"A diverse repertoire celebrating the rich of Arabic music heritage from Levant and Saudi Arabia , from haunting ballads to lively folk tunes, experience the beauty and depth of Arabic music infused with a Flamenco touch like never before.
Diar (دْيَار ) is a Syrian band dedicated to reviving and preserving traditional Syrian and Arabic songs by infusing them with a flamenco touch. Our aim is to cultivate and celebrate the rich Arabic heritage through our music, using easy rhythms so everyone can appreciate and enjoy it. The term ""Diar"" (دْيَار ) refers to the open space of a courtyard in Damascus' traditional houses, also known as ""Ard Diar"" (أرض دْيَار ). This term evokes memories of our homeland in Syria, our childhood, friends, family, and first love, and reminds us of our musical roots. As we now call Canada our new home, Diar will be the bridge between our memories in Syria and our present lives in Canada.
