The snow is melting and it is officially spring! Isabel & the Uncommons are back for their regular every 4th Saturday afternoon residency this March with a great line up, original roots inspired songs, sweet and haunting harmonies and an upbeat band! Isabel will be joined by the Uncommons band with Rebecca Campbell, Shelley Coopersmith and the driving rhythm section brought to you by Rachel Melas and Conny Nowe. Songs from the heart about life, love, and connection. It's always a fun time for a late Saturday afternoon, hope to see you there!
Isabel and the Uncommons is a trio, featuring songwriter, singer, and guitarist Isabel Fryszberg, Steve Briggs (Russell DeCarle, Sylvia Tyson) on lead guitar, and Rebecca Campbell (the SPECIAL INTEREST group, Sultans of String, Lynn Miles) on harmonies, percussion, and harmonica .
Visual artist and singer songwriter Isabel Fryszberg has written or co-written a diverse repertoire, inspired by traditional folk, country, blues, bluegrass, and jazz. For her Tranzac residency, there will also be a tasty, ‘uncommon' cover or two brought to the mix. Some songs are matters of the heart, or stories that only a song can tell. Others are philosophical, and raise questions about our current urban landscape and life. But don’t be fooled - there will also be songs that will make you laugh or smile.
All faithful to an old tradition, while definitely walking the other side of the street
- John Apice, Nodepression Music Journal.
Over the course of Isabel’s residency, ‘uncommon’ guests will introduce new sounds - fiddle, mandolin, pedal steel - to the Uncommons mix. And to share the opportunity to play in the storied Southern Cross, special guest singer songwriters will also share the bill from time to time.
