Part of the residency Cassie Norton Presents Song Experiment

The Ugly Bug Band are one of Toronto's more under-the-radar musical gems. For the past thirty years, they've been getting together whenever it feels right and playing gnostic folk sing-along songs about monkeys, Biblical patriarchs, and the end of the world. Currently the band includes Blitz (bass/vocals), Martin Loomer (guitar, vocals), Wendy Banks (ukelele, kalimba, vocals), Arnd Jurgensen (guitar, banjo, vocals), and Mark Blaauw-Hara (drums, vocals).

Song Experiment is a monthly song lab hosted by Cassie Norton that explores different ways of presenting songs. Different artists and approaches are featured each month. Cassie Norton is a Toronto based singer-songwriter, violinist/multi-instrumentalist, improvisor and climate activist. Cassie tells the stories behind her lyrics with sound, using a wide timbral palette of voice, violin, octave violin, ukulele, and piano. www.cassienorton.com
Song Experiment is the second Saturday of every month, 5 pm - 7 pm, in the Southern Cross Lounge.
