Julian Anderson-Bowes Trio

Julian Anderson-Bowes is joined by Chris Pruden and Mackenzie Longpre to explore the piano trio format. This project features original music from each member, as well as improvisations. They strive to evolve and expand on the traditional roles of each instrument in a jazz context, working with form and musical structures to create gestures that are cyclical in nature, growing and shrinking organically over time.

Julian performs with a wide range of improvising musicians in the Toronto creative music community, and he is excited to use this residency as an opportunity to explore new collaborations, as well as broaden the scope of existing projects like Moonbliss, and a collaborative trio with Chris Pruden and Mackenzie Longpre.
