“August is like the Sunday of Summer”, a saying that suggests passages, calm reflection, and hopeful renewal. On the last Sunday of this August, the Songcrafters—Chris Birkett, Lisa Hartt, and Brian Morgan—will be performing at the Tranzac Club on Brunswick Ave. No guarantees on personal transitions, but we do promise finely crafted originals and a few favourite covers in the musical mix. Chris is an award-winning producer, a wonderful multi-instrumentalist, and a composer with a keen activist’s eye on the hypocrisies of our day. Lisa writes and sings with full emotions and vulnerabilities on display, daring us to do the same. Stories of travel—with fiddle and guitar in hand—seem to be recurring themes in many of Brian’s originals. Come see the Songcrafters and judge for yourself.
