At Tranzac, we are dedicated to supporting artists through our Residency Programs, providing them with the time, space, and resources needed to develop and showcase their work. Our programs foster creativity, collaboration, and community building.
For decades, Tranzac has been hosting regular live music events in the Southern Cross Lounge, which gradually evolved into one of the largest performance residency programs in North America. Most Southern Cross residencies are monthly two-hour time slots, where artists often act as performers, collaborators, and curators, inviting guest performers to join. Our current performance residency roster includes over 70 artists, ensembles, and jams, contributing to the 1,000+ performances and events held annually. While the bulk of these residencies remain musical, the program has expanded to include poetry, comedy, and multidisciplinary events, diversifying the range of artistic communities supported.
Calls for applications for the Performance Residency Program occur twice a year. These calls are for monthly residencies covering two six-month periods running from April to September and October to March.
Our Artist Residency Program provides visual artists with exhibition space in the Southern Cross Lounge and Main Hall, where they can exhibit their work for one month. This program supports artists in showcasing their creations and engaging with the community through dedicated exhibition periods.
