"An adventurous ensemble led by Toronto guitarist and composer Dan Pitt, this group blends styles and influences from a wide array of music genres. Featuring longtime members of Dan’s trio, Alex Fournier (bass) and Nick Fraser (drums), the quintet includes a tetrad of woodwind instruments performed by Patrick Smith and Naomi McCarroll-Butler.
The compositions allow the players freedom to move in whatever direction they want and to go as far out as they want. From the ambient wash of ECM influences to the aggressive bite of rock, this music offers a broad range of sounds and textures that demonstrate Dan’s ability to create music unconstrained by the limits of any style or genre.
