Doug’s music is comfortably and uncomfortably amorphous, settled and unsettling, hypnotic and surprising , from glacial slaw to grooving- in and out of genres from folk, quasi-ambient, pop, jazz, and through-composition tethered together and pulled apart by the threads and ruptures of improvisation. Each night of this residency will feature dynamic improvising musicians whose unique voices will allow new musical material to grow, find itself, lose itself, take on new meanings and shift kaleidoscopically.
