"Join the Opera Queens one final time this Sat, Sept 5, 2026: the grand finale of our Southern Cross residency! OQ closes with “Latin Night” - spotlighting iconic femme fatale CARMEN and commemorating the Orlando Pulse tragedy.
Headlined by drag diva Tanya Smania, we are excited to feature pianist Suzanne Yeo, baritone Cesar Bello Rodriguez, and Franco-Ontarian coloratura soprano Christina Lamoureux in selections from Bizet’s “CARMEN” as well as zarzuela, Spanish song, and vibrant community performances.
OPERA QUEENS is proud to be Tranzac’s very first 1st opera AND 1st drag residency! Free entry - no tickets or reservation required, PWYC (pay-what-you-can), cash bar: doors and bar open at 5 PM.
Opera Queens presents classical vocal music presented in FULL COLOUR - QTBIPOC in drag, gender-bent, and queerified. Sorry, Timmy Chalamet - opera is awesome and we’re dragging it kicking and screaming into the 21st century in the way it should be be - inclusive, accessible, and fun!
