Southern Cross

"Experience Julie Lassonde's residency involving movement and sound improvisation. This month, they invite Bri Clarke (movement), Heather Saumer (trombone, voice) and Joe Sorbara (percussion). Together, they will perform scores composed by Julie specifically for this residency.
Bri Clarke is a performer and choreographer with a speciality performing in non-conventional spaces. She organizes monthly improv jams across the GTA.
Julie Lassonde is a performance artist and improviser who uses movement, voice and the manipulation of objects to explore social justice.
Heather Saumer is a trombonist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, mover, thinker, wonderer, noticer, collaborator, who also works as a Gestalt Psychotherapist.
Joe Sorbara is a drummer, percussionist and improviser who co-founded the Association for Improvising Musicians, Toronto, and serves as Artistic Director of the Guelph Jazz Festival."
Julie Lassonde will curate movement and sound improvisation events, involving free improvisation as well as scores composed by them. Different invited musicians, dancers and performance artists will join them in performance throughout the residency.
