"Experience Julie Lassonde's residency involving movement and sound improvisation. For this last residency show, they invite Bri Clarke (movement), James Knott (voice, piano) and Pursuit Grooves (electronics). Together, they will perform scores composed by Julie specifically for this occasion.
Bri Clarke is a performer, and producer, currently focused on the relationship between physical, textual and musical narratives in space.
James Knott is an emerging, Toronto-based artist, and member of the 7a*11d Toronto Performance Art Collective, whose work spans performance, music, and moving images.
Julie Lassonde is a performance artist and improviser who uses movement, voice and the manipulation of objects to explore social justice.
Vanese Smith, alias Pursuit Grooves, is a sound and visual artist, mentor, and educator, co-founder of Loop Sessions Toronto and 2025 Johanna Metcalf Performing Arts Prize finalist."
Julie Lassonde will curate movement and sound improvisation events, involving free improvisation as well as scores composed by them. Different invited musicians, dancers and performance artists will join them in performance throughout the residency.
