Sounds of the Shadows

Sounds of the Shadows is a narrative force of resistance directed by Aliyah Aziz that takes the form of an audio reactive projected shadow play, accompanied by experimental live looping soundscapes and compiled field recordings. Sets will integrate different compositions from a variety of work, both improvised and incorporating written poetry, as a response to the attempted privatization of Ontario Place. Vocal performances of demands in dialogue with visuals of moving shadows will be projected as floating images around performers on window screen fabric, in a surreal animated collage of image and sound.
