A new season of Sympathetic String Band & Friends begins Sunday, October 26th! We’ll be kicking things off with a nyckelharpa performance by the inimitable Charles Spearin before sinking into a sprawling group improvisation.
Sympathetic String Band toes the ages from medieval troupe music to hippy heyday psych folk. With dulcimers and harps in hand, motifs of whimsy and sadness appear and dissolve into sprawling improvisations. With ever-changing members, musicorum and more, whatever form the Sympathetic String Band takes never appears twice.
