Sympathetic String Band with Potions

Wind and String will unite at the next instalment of Sympathetic String Band & Friends! Our guest this month will be Toronto's own - Potions, performing as the Sympathetic Wind Band! Expect a particularly zephyrous set on their many wind instruments. Sympathetic String Band will be true to form with a musical set on many strings before joining with Potions, where Wind will meet String! Ben and Aidan of Potions are no strangers to the Sympathetic String Band, having performed with us on many occasions - we are thrilled to have them back alongside the rest of the Potions crew. Catch us for from 7:30-9:30pm in the Southern Cross for this very Aeolian event!

Sympathetic String Band toes the ages from medieval troupe music to hippy heyday psych folk. With dulcimers and harps in hand, motifs of whimsy and sadness appear and dissolve into sprawling improvisations. With ever-changing members, musicorum and more, whatever form the Sympathetic String Band takes never appears twice.
