Tania Gill presents The Blues

Victor Bateman and Ken Kawashima (AKA Sugar Brown) have been playing the blues together for more than a decade. They share an appreciation for the music of classic blues performers like Jimmy Reed and Little Walter, recognize the presence of the blues in both jazz and country music, and see the blues as an improvised musical form. These guys love the blues. On March 7 they’ll be singing the blues, ably assisted by Blake Howard and Jean Martin. Come to the Tranzac that evening if you’d like to hear their version of the blues.
